Yeah, Ive only completed the 4 acts in Normal. Just got into act 2 with my WD in Nightmare. Taking my time and raising a host of alts to give all the underwhelming gear thats dropping.

I don't know how they could even pick up the story after #2.
I've not seen the trailers or have any interest in the game, other than the story line, which as mentioned on the above line I don't see how they managed to cram in another into the story....
Can someone sum up the basic plot in how there is a game 3 in a reply?

Can someone sum up the basic plot in how there is a game 3 in a reply? Basically, destroying the Worldstone did NOT destroy the whole world. With Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto dead, there's still Azmodan and Belial (the guy who overthrew the 3 prime evils and banished them from Hell) left, these are the first two you go after. The game starts with a meteor falling out of the sky, slamming into the cathedral (yes THAT cathedral). This causes lots of undead to rise up, and your character goes to investigate. Once you find the bottom of the crater, the rest of the game's plot gets set into motion. What I don't like, is what happens in Act IV, but I won't spoil it. Acts 1-2 are fine, Act 3... eh I hear it starts getting weird near the end of it; I've only seen the beginning of it.

Yeah, 50-60 hours is good for a $50 game.
And besides, maybe sometime you might side the game aside, and a bit down the road, pick it up for 5-10 hours more. Or maybe do another type of character if you haven't already, etc.
Not every game can do 100+ hours like Skyrim can (I've put like 180 on mine, and Dawnguard isn't even out yet, tho I haven't played it much recently).

I know right? Wife and I played a couple of hours last night. She fought the Act II boss for the first time and had a blast in Act III (My favorite act by far), so Im sure Ill get over 100+ hours out of it, which makes it worth the investment.

Actually, in all honesty, my copy of Diablo3 was free.
I got it with WoW's Annual Pass; I had every intention of staying in WoW for a year+ anyways (especially with all the awesome things MoP is bringing), so basically... I signed up for this agreement that I'd continue to play WoW for a year (which is what I had already planned on doing) and in return, they gave me an in-game item, and Diablo 3 for free.
Heck yeah!

yup that's the only reason I have it...heh. If it hadn't been for the Annual Pass, I might have bought Diablo 3 at some point, though the Online-Only would have given me serious misgivings and/or made me drag my feet a bit about it, and I certainly would have waited a minimum of 3-4 months before buying it (to wait for all the bugs to get worked out). I enjoyed Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, so I thought "this could be cool", but I was a little nervous about them changing the game a little too much. Thankfully, they stayed mostly true to the games gameplay and story-wise (I still don't like some elements of its plot though).

My son showed interest in Diablo and I went looking for an alternative because he's too young to be playing M rated games and I rediscovered Torchlight. I actually bought Torchlight 2 from Steam and got a free copy of the original with it and I'm quite enjoying it. I've actually stopped playing D3 and am spending more time with it. No multiplayer in the orignal but apparently there will be in the number 2 which is supposed to come out this summer some time. $20 on steam and you get both games.

Torchlight is a fun game for a bit. The environments are pretty varied. It does get old after a while since its the same over and over. I never even got close to the end or anything.

You say that as if Diablo isn't the same old over and over again, lol. That's just how the genre works; once you get through the game the first time, that's... pretty much all there is to it, you just keep doing it again to make your character more powerful, because you're bored of your other games, because you can't think of anything else to do, what-not.
