Yes each class does have a male female option. I will be glad when the game is released so they will stop deleting all the characters. LOL

OK so I got into the latest wave of Diablo Beta Invites. And the announcemetn said I was free to share whatever I wanted. So if anyone has any questions or requests let me know. I was never a big fan of the original Diabloe's so I dont want to just write a full on review since the game isn't really my thing. I can't say wether its "omg awesome" or not cuz..well..its not my thing LOL. I WILL say that for a heads-up view action-rpg game the grahpics are pretty cool. Everythign is really nicely done and pretty and the attack sparklies are fun to play with and look cool. I rolled up a Monk first just because I wanted to see how they did fast-melee-dps with some magic effects. So far I'm at level 8 and its a nice break from questing in SW:TOR LOL. I will also say that even if its not my cup of tea, I've played now for about 4 hours straight and seem to more focused on "ok let's do one more quest..let's go a little bit farther" than "ok..I"m done now." So that's a good thing I think. But wether this breaks any boundaries since Diablo II I have no idea. At first thought the ability wheel was underwhelming (you get four buttons to assign stuff to along with your two attacks bound to your mouse buttons - no you cannot unbind them and no you cannot switch your mouse button bindings) So basically six abitliies to play with and thats it. But when I started leveling and picking what ability goes well and which unlock and rune power to use the system opens up quite a bit and you are given a lot of options with which to play with. You just have to line up your options between each fight if you want to change ability banks. So not as limited as I was thinking when I first played with the skill buttons. Just got my first "group member" and so far there's a fair bit of back and forth chatter while dungeoning. Interesting at this point but we'll see ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) . I've not tried the public areas yet; so far just playing solo. From what I've looked at with the login screen though it appears you can pick any formerly done quest and join a "public version" of it. I will be trying that though to see how that works. Id on't knwo if its just a buncha people running around now trying to do the same quest "solo in a world of others" or if its actually ramped up difficulty and such. Anyway if anyone wants to know anything - just ask I can try and answer before a character wipe and restart LOL. I already have this game through my annual pass; so if I do contineu to have fun at lesat its a nice side-game once it goes live.

RE:Frith:
6 Abilities is way, way, way better than 2 Abilities that Diablo 2 had, and -1- Ability (well, 2 if you count auto-attack, and the 2nd ability was a spell, among which all characters had access to) that Diablo 1 had.
I personally love the 4 new abilities and I love how they restrict some abilities to right click and some to left click, it makes more sense and it keeps you from making stupid mistakes that are gonna get yourself killed. It is very sensible -- left click gives you stuff that build resources (from what I've seen of Barbarian and Demon Hunter) and right click gives you POWERFUL stuff that makes you spend resources. Makes sense.
They give you miscellaneous abilities for the other 4 keys and you can switch em at any time. To be honest, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Demon Hunter, what I've seen of it thusfar. Pew pew pew, jump and roll around the place, pew pew pew, throw some caltrops on the floor, pew pew pew, use a smoke bomb... oh, and the machinegun shot... hahaha, awesome. Nothing like mowing down a roomful of weaker baddies with what might as well be a machinegun.
She is everything the Bowazon should have been back in Diablo2.
My ONLY disappointment is that there's no Offline mode, and this is yet one more game I cannot play if I have internet troubles or if I want to download something.....
And Thank God they got rid of that horrible skill/talent screen bullshit. I hated that shit with a purple passion in Diablo 2.
And crafting looks awesome! Finally, when I _want_ a two-handed axe, I can go make a two-handed axe. I don't have to pray "please please have a two-handed axe in stock" when I walk up to a shopkeeper.

Well I barely remember playing DIabloe I and not sure I played Diablo II at all.
So yes six is better; but we're lookin gat 8 years later so I would HOPE they would improve upon it.
And i get the point of the mouse clicks - but I disagree with making them unbindable/unprogrammable. THAT pisses me off and is unacceptable.
So hopefully they'll change it; cuz right now you can't change them at all and...that's just..bullshit.

Frithy, you should know this by now. Blizzard will always try to make it as simple as possible. They are not unlike Apple in that regard. I think it has been a measure of their success.

No excuse for unprogrammable keys. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) The six abilities works, esp. With the runes u really have more. And with four of the six u can reprogram. Just for some reason, the two mouse buttons u cannot. Which is wierd given alllll the various mouse button options there are nowadays. *shrugs*.

I have to admit, I am utterly perplexed by the whole Diablo love around the internet. Diablo 1 was just a point and click mess that was pretty mindless. I tried it a few times and never had the urge to play more. Diablo had a huge hype around it, but I swear it was no different than 1, the pvp gankers made me stop playing and never wanting to go back. I guess my gaming preferences aren't the norm

Diablo2 was pretty fun in that it was one of the early loot-fest games. However, that type of game has proliferated since with the deluge of MMOs out there so I too am perplexed by the whole Diablo3 thing.
That said, I'm also a bit shocked that Blizzard is having major server problems today. I mean, yes, there are tons and tons of people trying to login... but, this is Blizzard. They've launched WoW and 3 expansions, you'd think that they would be fully aware of hype, player load, and the potential for server issues and have planned ahead.

Maybe blizz does it on purpose.. makes thier games appear to be so popular that the servers die, builds hype based on that fact, and then sells more units due to the hype?

They've launched WoW and 3 expansions, you'd think that they would be fully aware of hype, player load, and the potential for server issues and have planned ahead. Sometimes planning just ain't enough. When you have millions of people pounding your servers over and over again like drooling retards who can't wait to log on as soon as it is available because they just can't possibly wait a day... well... Server outages happen. I, for one, am going to wait a few days before I really start seriously playing because of stability issues. I'll let the ADHD children devour the content until they get bored of it, and then they'll leave and there'll be fewer people playing and it'll be more stable. It is just funny when you see how many people who buy a ton of redbull, soda, monster drinks, no-doz, and junk food so they can stay up/call in sick/etc so they can log on at exactly 12:00AM and play play play until they RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH through the game ASAP. .......nevermind that they'll disconnect every 10 seconds because there are millions of people trying to get connections to the server, blah blah. It is just... amusing to sit back and watch the drama unfold. Edit: RE: Guy who said 'I don't see the big deal about Diablo': The first game was fun, but only in Single Player mode. Online, yeah, that was a mess and a half, cheaters everywhere. It was a "simple point and click", but yet at the time, it was a fun game to play once you get the hang of it. It definitely had its issues, but still fun. Diablo2 solved -most- of the issues that plagued Diablo 1, but yet, there still remained the ability to cheat. Again, Single-player was the best way to go with Diablo 2. The storyline was interesting to see, some of the places looked awesome (the game had good graphics for its time) and it was an addicting hack-n-slash (or shoot, whatever). Sometimes, a gamer just wants to kill shit. They don't want to have to micro-manage their character (or worse, the battles themselves). They want to start up a game, and start killing hordes of shit within minutes. Diablo games give gamers exactly that. Start the game up, load up your character and... kill shit. No questions asked. It is good stress relief. Especially in Diablo 3... lots of blood, gore, SQUISH noises, especially if you're playing a barbarian... "WHAM! SQUISH! WHAM! SQUISH!" and now you can smash furniture... tables, chairs, bookshelves... you're swinging around this HUGE sword and smashing everything in sight. .... it is strangely cathartic.

Dunno, count me among the I don't get the hype group. I bought Torchlight for 5 or 10 bucks on steam, and i got a few hours out of it, so it wasn't a horrible purchase. 10 years ago, I thought the story behind diablo was cool and it helped make the game cool. But that was 10 years ago, my tastes have changed a lot.

I enjoy the game, but I'm not a huge fanboi of it either. I got the game for free with Annual Pass. I play WoW and I planned on playing a full year anyways, so I said "Free game and in-game mount? Sure! Sign me up!" From what I've played of the Beta and the actual release, I can see myself having some enjoyable times in Diablo 3. Do I buy into that hype and treat it like it is THE best game out on the market? No.
