Nah Alge I like you and consider you a friend, be it only online at the moment but a friend none the less, Sheral I really feel bad about pissing off, because it took some time to mend that online relationship, and I certainly was not directing anything in her direction, Kir, I have never had a problem with and wasn't directing anything at either, and Shaw..........he can just bite me, and I am only saying that because everyone smites him and it seems like the right thing to do ;D
I was just trying to prove a point, I admitted already it was tasteless and mean, but it did work, it got yalls attention and opened your eyes. If it made any of you look back for just a second and re-think some of the things you said then it was worth all the bitching.
One day I hope yall will learn to read past my bad language and bullshit tone and see more of the meaning behind my bile, I admit its had to do, but try harder damnit!!!

Tonic, no offence but you're talking bollocks.
We are saying that our alliance with the USA has gained us the attention of the terrorists on this occasion. Now don't get me wrong here, anyone. I am not attacking the USA (and I dare anyone to find where I have openly attacked - not criticised the US govt's actions, attacked, there is a difference - the USA). I will stand by anyone's side against terrorism and the people of England are not going to back down and run away, we're not like that and a big fuck you to anyone who thinks that. However, there is no denying that our government's following the USA's government into war is the cause of the current escalation of terrorism in England. And whether or not we feel that the war was wrong or right, we can't let terrorists dictate what we do. I don't see anyone British in this thread remotely suggesting that we should give in to the terrorists. I do see them telling the truth. If we hadn't been allied with the USA, and if we hadn't invaded Iraq, then the bombings would not have taken place. It's a statement of fact, not an apportion of blame. Can't you see the difference?
And I don't think any single Brit would have felt the need to even state that fact, if it wasn't for the fact that people who are supposed to be our allies turned right around and insulted us by trying to suggest that we didn't know what terrorism was like until now, or that we'd go running to the USA for help. Or, even worse, the suggestion that we'd bend over on this one.
Pal, I know you say you weren't directing your remarks to anyone in particular, but don't you see? You were directing your remarks to Brits, because we are the ones feeling the pain at this time. So you have offended every Brit here, whether or not they have ever said anything negative about America. Not having the fancy words or whatever has nothing to do with it, a slap in the face is a slap in the face no matter how it's said. I have always tried not to generalise, and whenever I have had anything remotely negative to say about the US I have tried to make sure it is understood that I'm talking about your government's policies and not the country or the people. But your remarks, whether directed at me personally or not, still stung because I'm British and you were attacking the British in general.
As I said, I can see the point you are trying to make, but don't you see how that makes you just as petty and mean-spirited as those you are condemning? Tit for tat will just keep it going around forever.
So, as plain as I can say for the hard of understanding: We got bombed because we're allied with the USA. That doesn't mean I don't want us to be allied with the USA anymore, I'm just stating a fact. However, our alliance with the USA doesn't mean I'm going to agree with everything the USA does. True friendship doesn't work like that. So there are going to be times when I disagree with US foreign policy, and the more staunch Bush supporters aren't going to like what I say because to them it's going to sound a lot like 'the emperor isn't wearing any clothes'. Just try to get used to the idea that criticism doesn't mean hatred. Also try to get used to the idea that the sun doesn't shine from George Bush's arse, America is not the centre of the universe, and sometimes your government makes wrong decisions. Like all true friends, the Brits will stand by our allies (haven't we proved that already?) no matter what, and despite things like that which happened in Londong recently, but we also reserve the right to call you and your government on its shit should we feel the need. If you can't take it, then perhaps it's not friends you need, but sycophants.

Sheral I personally like the Brits and the Aussies .Both countries show quite a bit of resolve and sand in my opinion and I shocked if they let an incident like this change their course.
However I really do feel as if this was a sooner or later thing as far as the terrorists go, whether you were our allies or not. I may be wrong here but I don't think those kinds of people just live and let live, sooner or later they want control over every country, it is only a matter of time.
While their main agenda now is the control of the middle east, as soon as they have that firmly under their thumb they will begin to expand into Europe. Maybe I am just a paranoid son of a gun, but all I see here is another group of Nazi's out to conquer the world. Those who preach the 'just let em alone and they won't bother us' doctrine will find out just as Chambelain did that these sorts of people are never to be trusted. They are fanatics and reason does not apply to fanatics.
Someone brought up the Falklands earlier. Argentina made a bad mistake by underestimating GB and I think these terrorists did the same. If anything now you Brits will go after them with a vengeance. As we say on this side, payback is hell. Revenge may not solve anything but it sure makes you feel better:)

always coming after the war here is the french sentence..........you all sucks!!!! Yes but the point is that you are expert at sucking. Everyone has to have something they are good at even if it is sucking at everything. Get yourself some T Shirts made up that say "I am French and I Suck!" then go forth and suck long and hard to the best of your sucking ability.

well, I know where Pally is coming from and I see what he was getting at. *shrugs* aint like I am known here for having the best personality, and until Pally, I was going for the worst.
Anyways, so you brits got a stiff jab to the jaw...you've had worse from better. I am glad it wasnt as bad as it could have been.
Oh...and I would like to add in here, I am not a great fan of what Bush is doing in the middle east. They're fucking barbarians and dont know the meaning of an evolved society....2000 years after christ and they still aint outta the friggin dark ages...my personal opinion...make the place a fucking wasteland for a 1000 years, and if they come back, we'll know them to be nothing more than cockroaches.
And to any arabs out there reading this...this means YOU!

To all the Brits that read this board (If there are any left),
Sorry to hear about the attack, and hope no one you know personnal was effected.
After reading this thread I can see why Americans are hated no matter where we go. (and yes I am an American). America has put a stick in a hornets nest with no hope of ever solving the "problem" and the rest of the world will have to pay for it. The "War on Terror" is a war that can never be won and anyone believing it can is just fooling themselves.

/hands Raistlin a white hood You ever thought of leaving the trailor park and seeing a bit of the world? Yeah...I thought about it...then I looked around the trailer park and noticed the rug rats were speaking mexican better than english...and the ones who couldnt speak either have this fascination with wearing a towel around their head. Call me racist...I dont mind. To each and every non-american living in america...I could not be MORE racist. LEAVE...GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY COUNTRY!!!!! When I see your fucking kids getting better health care and edcuation becuase you are here illegally and dont believe in the principles of this country and are being supported by US citizens.....I get beyond upset. I wanted to point this out, becuase I would like to say KUDOS TO BRITAIN..for what Tony Blair is trying to do with deporting and not allowing hate speech....you wanna preach that shit...keep doing it in the desert..but you aint gonna do it in Britain anymore. Now if only we could take a lesson from the yanks and think a little more along those lines over here. Also, I notice no one really has anything to say about how quickly the Brits are tracking down these guys and others and implementing measures to combat them in thier country. I expected ya Brits to take some action and you did. That's why I like you guys...hell, I even drank a glass of Tea in honor ya.
