It's indeed scary, but in view of the massive spying we now know that the NSA is--and has been--conducting on ordinary plain-Jane Americans for the past decade it is--sad to say--not terribly surprising.

It has been soundly debunked by security experts for more than a decade, including the venerable Bruce Schneier. cryptome.org/jya/msnsa.htmNow, that doesn't mean there isn't actually something in Windows that puts in a backdoor, but to date, no one has found it, and to be quite honest, there really doesn't need to be. Windows, by its very design, has so many security holes that it doesn't NEED a backdoor. I think the NSA knows this very well, and is quite capable of finding and exploiting them at its leisure.
