Oh cool! You unbanned his pathetic ass, Pally? This may be the ONLY board he hasn't been banned from! So now you're in PvP, DOZer. Bring your pathetic shit, you inarticulate, grammar and real life-clueless teener. Let's see how you match up against the pros . . . . .

awwww that's okay Pally. I don't really give a shit about the pussy/douche thing, since I know he probably had to look up the spelling on dictionary.com
I just get sick of the unrelenting monotony of it, time and again, the same fucking points over and over again, it's like chinese water torture. It is just so tediously and unrelentingly the same. Never changes. Never anything new.
It's like a really badly designed robot that just keeps saying the same thing again and again and again and WON'T SHUT UP about it.

This post is entertaining . To be honest though, the original rant of this thread.. I do think those holes in games should be fixed, it is a pain to have to recall and run back just because you got stuck. Is kinda lazy I think to leave some of them. Some holes are fine like that pit, but well.. you should die when you reach the bottom with some falling damage on that specific one in my opinion. I think DOZer always takes these arguments too far . He sounds almost like a conspiracy theorist.

Not to throw gas on the fire, but it really is the truth. Horizons is so far behind, what is now expected in a MMORPG. Only customers they even have a chance of finding is NEWBIES. But the game is way to complex to learn for those types. And buggy blah blah blah. Not even gamers like it thou. Its just YUCK. Got an email from an old guildie from Horizons yesterday. He was playing WoW and just having one hella time. His only regrets was sticking with Horizons for so long, buying into the total bullshit. That the devs, investors, and friends spread. This company is a scam, plain and simple.

Meh it's no scam. They are no doubt trying their hardest to make the best game they can with now limited resources. Perhaps that doesn't live up to some peoples expectations but they are trying.
I think HZ has potential to keep newbies, and people looking for a slightly different experiance because it does have potential to fill a niche for some people.
I was the mmorpg newbie when I went to HZ, and I had fun, it doesn't matter if other games were better or whatever because I enjoyed myself, that is what matters. After all this is just entertainment.

Bah HZ was never all that bad. It's almost cold weather time so I will need a MMO to occupy my time. Just waiting to see if that DnL open beta is going to be as big of a POS as I think it is. Unlike old Dozer though if DnL is a POS I have better things to do with my time than hang around and trash it, I will just shrug it off and move on.

, but for the most part it is unknown to the majority of gamers. That has always been one of our biggest problems. Not true. Almost all gamers know about your game. I mean serious gamers not the casual gamer that you want (the person who is completely new to an MMO). Word of mouth is a killer. HZ is mocked. Now i dont understand why besides all the backend drama. The game was very nice had alot of potential but when i saw it wasnt gonna move forward at the pace i wanted i left. *shrug* Oh and Dozer maybe that was your mommas puss puss that smelled?

Horizons has always had places specifically where you could not get out by design. Remember "the pit" in the undead mine SE of Morning Light? There's a fence around it, and I think even a sign, but you can still jump over the fence and down into the pit, and there is NO WAY out of it, except flight and recall. That's cool.
I think the problem is the "unintentional" holes. That old one out east of Aughendell back in the Mithril's Anvil area back when it was blighted land with all the undead forts and the trench, with Pale Shamblers running around. You'd run across the trench and BAM! You're stuck. Fortunately, you could sidestep up the corners and get out of that one, but I remember Guild battles at the Pale shamblers when a guildie fell into that damn thing THREE times in about 15 minnutes. For some who couldn't get out of it with the sidestep, we also used mobs to help pull them out (Free Movement off used to allow you to climb unclimbable surfaces chasing a runaway mob who was running away up sheer cliffs).
The ones that are unintentional from rough or broken terrain should be fixed, especially in high-traffic areas. However, I don't have a problem with intentional "holes".
As for the Peter S. Beagle thing, I am kinda ambivalent over it. I will reserve any judgment about it until I see what comes of it. The worst thing will be if very little or nothing comes of it, because then it will be seen as nothing more than a sad attempt at riding on the coattails of a famous author. Writing story for books and writing it for games are two different creatures; not all famous authors can (or are willing to, anyway) adapt their styles accordingly to make it work. The thing I think that bothers me more is if Tulga is paying out a large sum of money to engage Mr. Beagle, and is still paying its employees peanuts. Passable story is not hard to write for games, and I would hate to think that the folks in the trenches are going to continue to suffer on a beer budget due to yet another champagne deal (a la Verio), when they could hire a decent unknown (but good quality) writer for far less. Of course, Mr. Beagle may be a fan of the game, and is doing it as a charity to Tulga, but that just reinforces the fear that nothing will come out of it except for glowing press releases.
I have been banging the lore drum since beta, but I am not sure that using a wrecking ball to crack a peanut is the best way to go about it. We'll see though. I really do hope some nice work comes from it.

Yes, I am glad Beagle is signed on - but I'll only be happy when I see some lore happen . As for the original reason of the rant - please submit bugs with ingame performance of ANY game to the offical websites of such games. As for wether Hz is known by the "serious" gamer community - I am not sure. I talk about playing this game all the time IN other games, and 9 times out of 10 noone else online knows what I'm talking about. Now some of those people I would consider "serious" gamers, though "new" serious gamers (as in only started playing Since HZ was released, but not prior). So perhaps "old" serious gamers have heard of it, but people who started gaming in the last couple of years due to other games - haven't necessarily heard of it . As for the rest of this - man what a good laugh. Too frickin' funny. Dozer is always good for a chuckle at work! Frith-Rae

Its a trick of the mind... They aren't really walking through walls... They simply re-appear on the other side. HAHAH

As far as the mobs are concerned....there is no wall Unfortunately for the client its mind is not open to the idea of something it see's not really being there. Some holes are good, pits you can fall into as terrain obsticles are fine if not annoying sometimes. So long as the ones you can't get out of and can't recall from get fixed I don't care a great deal, teaches me to keep an eye out. The one i used to fall in the most was when running to the CS from Ml drop down off the hill and into the pit ..damn *recall swear run back* As for the ongoing argument with D0zer, Don't argue with an idiot (s)he will drag you down to his/her level then beat you with experience.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. If MOBs can walk through fucking walls, why cant players climb out of fucking holes? Discuss.... This is indeed, at least in my view, one of the two most needed "fixes" for Horizons to attract a HUGE following (despite DOZer's and Grimlik's ability to complain about anything relating to the game). Horizons has no collision detection programming which, as I read here and elsewhere, prevents client server beasties from recognizing (and bouncing back from) obstacles such as walls and mountains. Without it, dungeons (so I hear) are impossible to implement since beasties will simply aggro players through walls. The other obstacle, of course, is a client engine that sucks up memory like there's no tomorrow. Although the dev team has come light years with that problem since launch, the lag problem still doesn't measure up to products launched in the last year. Fix those two issues and I predict Horizons would quadruple its player base within six months.
