A while back, a few people here tried Torchlight; nice little game, not too pretentious, it seemed successful at meeting its goals.
For some reason, probably Rift, I didn't pay any attention when Torchlight II came out. I'm currently between games, in the pre-expansion doldrums. So, I was restlessly poking around in Steam, and ran across TLII. $20.
It's much more ambitious than TLI was; it's like a cross between TLI and Diablo III. Playing it in casual mode. Stomping everything fairly easily, TONS of loot, and just plain ol' fun.
It is 21/2 D. Artwork is clean, cheerful when appropriate, pleasant.

Yes, its a nice game and does what it sets out to do well. Lots of content, that's for sure. I like that you can play it in small chunks, take a break, come back, etc.
