I would be interested in starting some form of guild. I just pre-ordered and took part of the 6 month founder pricing so I should hopefully be around for at least 7 months. A guild would help that for sure.

Pre-order here as well with the same 6-month contract. Ditto on the group adventure thing.
I primarily play group support roles so if anyone is looking for healing, let me know. I'm also not adverse to either faction or dead-set on a specific server rule-set.

Three month pre-order here. I'd strongly prefer either flavor of PVE server. Pacific time, but I play in my afternoons, early eve.

PVE server would be fine for me. I can PvP but never liked open world.
Edit the other question what side would others be interested in? I can not go guardian. Just to much of the same for me. I would much rather prefer Defiant I really like to steampunk look and feel.

It looks like we will be playing, although hubby already got on the ball and applied to a guild last night called Silent Lucidity (you can find them on the guild portal website). Small group of MMO vets by the looks, with a decent charter and a laid-back attitude. They're going defiant by the looks of their avatars. If not, we'll be looking elsewhere I guess since we're definitely going defiant.

Anyone else fill in their questionnaire? I wonder if I'll get asked back after being honest on mine

Anyone else fill in their questionnaire? I wonder if I'll get asked back after being honest on mine I just did. An awful lot of room to be funny with those questions so I went for it.

Just got some sort of 'alpha' invite from Trion - not sure what for as it was kinda vague, but I'll know more after work and will post what's up as soon as I read over the NDA clause...

Somewhere in various fora, I read that the NDA still holds for alpha testers, although lifted for beta testers. Apparently alpha testers are an inner circle; interesting idea having alpha and beta testing concurrently, something new to me.
Congratulations, 'twould seem your flair for insightful and well written reviews has been recognized.
I'm planning to go Guardian; I may wind up rejoining the Old Timers Guild, (for over 25'ers, little do they know...) which I was a member of in WoW. Good people, very large guild, pretty sensibly run. The Rift branch looks to be large enough that time zones will not be terribly important.

It does, and it is. Basically it's a separate server where they do targeted high-speed test/patch cycles on content slated for future release.
I'm a bit conflicted - on the one hand I'm always up for looking at systems and content during the development process as I find it interesting, on the other I don't want to ruin any surprise.

OOH I WILL USE THAT! Going now to see if it still works. Thanks man. I love messing around in betas . Woo it worked! Looks like there's an event going this tues-fri. And I'm going "Defiant" ;D So uhh, are there any shapeshifting classes (i.e. you become a beast to attack things)? Are there any pet classes? I like to look those up first when trying things out. And have you guys picked a server? If there's RP-PVE i'll go that way, if not just a general PvE server.

For mages Elementalist have tank pets and Necros have a more DPS pet from what I can tell. I think each "class" has one as I want to say I have seen a rogue/ranger type running around with a Boar I think. I think it was the BeastMaster. I am not sure about a shapeshifting class. That should also get you on the beta boards I think will have all kinds of class info in it.
I am pretty sure they have a RP-PvE server set up already. Someone should post what Server they are on come Tuesday and others can jump on it if they like. I know I want to start over again from the beginning.

Beastmaster is actually a warrior with a pet (kind of a big cat type thing). Not sure how good they are, only played it to 8 (trying not to go past 10 on any toon). The druid (cleric) has a little fairy pet that heals and dps's with magic while the druid does melee (at least as far as I got).
We were on the RP server the first couple of betas we were in, but the guild we're joining aren't RPers so we're going to reroll on their PVE server on Tues.
